Christopher J. Calhoun is a co-founder of Cytori Therapeutics and has served as the Company's Chief Executive Officer, Vice-Chairman and Director of the Board since 1997. He previously served as President from 1996 through 1998. Mr. Calhoun is the co-inventor on multiple U.S. and International patents for medical devices and implant instrumentation. Mr. Calhoun was also involved in research and management for the Plastic Surgery Bone Histology and Histometry Laboratory at the University of California, San Diego. Mr. Calhoun is a co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Leonardo MD, and has previously served on the Board of Directors of StemSource, Inc. Mr. Calhoun received a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.

Marc H. Hedrick, M.D. , , , President

Dr. Marc H. Hedrick was appointed President in May 2004. Dr. Hedrick joined Cytori Therapeutics as Chief Scientific Officer, Medical Director and Director in October 2002. Previously, Dr. Hedrick co-founded, and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of StemSource, Inc., a company specializing in stem cell research and development. Dr. Hedrick, a plastic surgeon by training, is a former Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). From 1998 until 2005, Dr. Hedrick directed the Laboratory of Regenerative Bioengineering and Repair for the Department of Surgery at UCLA. Dr. Hedrick obtained his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas and an MBA from UCLA in 2005.

Mark E. Saad , , , Chief Financial Officer

Mark E. Saad joined Cytori Therapeutics as Chief Financial Officer in June 2004. Previously, Mr. Saad served as Chief Operating Officer of UBS, Healthcare Investment Banking, New York, where he was responsible for global investment banking operations. Upon joining UBS, Mr. Saad served as Executive Director covering life sciences sectors - biotechnology and medical devices. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Saad held the position of Financial Analyst/Associate with Salomon, Smith Barney, Healthcare Investment Banking, New York, where he managed public and private transactions. Mr. Saad holds a B.A. from Villanova University, Philadelphia, PA.

Seijiro N. Shirahama , , , President - Asia Pacific

Seijiro N. Shirahama was appointed President – Asia Pacific in November 2007. He had served as Senior Vice President – Asia Pacific since November 2006, and as Vice President – Asia Pacific, from September 2002 to November 2006. Prior to that, from May 1999 to August 2002, he was President of Touchmetrics K.K., a diagnostic ultrasound firm. He held executive positions with Bristol-Myers Squibb K.K. from April 1997 to October 1998, and from March 1995 until March 1997, was the General Manager for Baxter Biotech Group in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Shirahama holds a B.A. from Kanagawa University in Yokohama, Japan and an M.A. from the University of San Francisco.

Steven Kesten, M.D. , , , Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer

Steven Kesten joined Cytori as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer in February 2013. Previously, he served as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Uptake Medical and at Boehringer Ingelheim, mostly recently as the vice president, medicine for marketed products for respiratory disease. Prior to that, he served as the medical director of the Rush Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant Program at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center; as the medical director of the Toronto Lung Transplant Program at the University of Toronto; and as a staff pulmonologist at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital. He also served as a faculty member of the University of Toronto and an associate professor of medicine at Rush Medical College. Dr. Kesten received his medical degree and specialty training in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine at the University of Toronto.

Clyde W. Shores , , , Executive Vice President of Marketing & Sales

Clyde W. Shores joined Cytori Therapeutics as Executive Vice President of Marketing & Sales in May 2011. Previously, Mr. Shores served as Vice President of Global Marketing for Baxter International’s Renal Business. Prior to Baxter, Mr. Shores worked for Abbott Laboratories, Amgen, Prometheus Laboratories and deCODE Genetics. During his 9 years at Amgen and tenure with other companies, he developed a fundamental understanding of the potential for cell therapies and devices, the commercialization of innovative therapeutics and the marketing and sales capabilities required to achieve significant revenue growth in global markets. Mr. Shores has 27 years experience in medical marketing and sales and has been involved in the launch and marketing of multiple innovative medical products. Mr. Shores holds a B.S. from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.

Douglas M. Arm, PhD , , , Senior Vice President, Operations

Douglas Arm, Ph.D. was appointed Senior Vice President, Operations in April 2009, and previously served as Vice President of Development – Regenerative Cell Technology since February 2005. Prior to joining us, Dr. Arm spent more than eight years at Interpore Cross International, the last several years as Director of Douglas Biologics Research. Before joining Interpore, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Dr. Arnold Caplan at the Skeletal Research Center at Case Western Reserve University, examining various aspects of mesenchymal stem cells. Dr. Arm earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, followed by his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington.

Kenneth K. Kleinhenz , , , Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs

Kenneth K. Kleinhenz was appointed Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs in April 2013. Previously, he had served as our Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance since November 2007 and as Director of Regulatory Affairs since joining us in 1999. From September 1998 to June 1999, Mr. Kleinhenz was the Technical Director of IFM Manufacturing. He served as a Chief Microbiologist for Becton Dickenson from June 1997 to September 1998, and as Manager of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs at Pacific Pharmaceuticals from September 1993 to June 1997. Mr. Kleinhenz is a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served as a Clinical Microbiologist for six years at the Naval Hospital, San Diego. He earned his B.S. in Microbiology at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and his M.B.A. in Technology Management at the University of Phoenix.

David C. Oxley , , , Vice President, Emerging Markets

Mr.Oxley’s remit includes establishing Cytori subsidiaries and commercial sales and distribution activities across Latin America, Africa, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to accepting this role in support of Cytori’s strategic growth plans, Mr. Oxley served as Vice President of Marketing. In a marketing capacity, Mr. Oxley developed and directed an operational marketing team responsible for tactical marketing and sales support functions for Cytori’s global sales organization, including the E.U, Japan, and the U.S. Prior to Cytori, Mr. Oxley served as Executive Vice President of World-Wide Sales & Marketing for the Point-of-Care Division for Trinity Biotech, plc (NASDAQ: “TRIB”),a public company specializing in the development, manufacture and marketing of clinical diagnostic products. Mr. Oxley had global responsibility for point-of-care market segments in addition to the development of an over-the-counter consumer market strategic business unit. In addition to his sales and marketing role, Mr. Oxley served as head of U.S. investor relations. Prior to Trinity Biotech, Mr. Oxley served a combined sixteen years in leadership positions in the IVD market, including head of government relations or a medical device company, healthcare investment banking for a national bank, healthcare advocacy and lobbying for a Washington, D.C. lawfirm, and health-care policy work for a member of the United States House of Representatives In concert with his corporate experiences, Mr. Oxley served in professional and not-for- profit entities including delegate of the Private Sector Delegation to the Board of the Global Fund to Fight HIV, TB& Malaria, outside director on the Board of the Children’s AIDS Fund and past member of the National Association of Securities Dealers, United States Army National Guard, and United States Air Force Reserve.

Richa Nand , , , Vice President & Counsel, Intellectual Property & Licensing

Richa Nand was appointed Vice President & Counsel, Intellectual Property & Licensing in April 2011. She joined Cytori Therapeutics in January 2004 as In-House Counsel, Intellectual Property. She developed and executed the company’s global IP strategy including overseeing patent portfolio development and assessing competitors’ patent rights. She was given an additional role of Director of Business Development in October 2010. This role required a deep understanding of the company’s business strategy, technology and goals, its financial capabilities, current and future opportunities and competitive IP landscape. She was appointed Vice-President & Counsel, Intellectual Property & Licensing in April 2011. In this role, she identifies key areas of innovation and differentiation to ensure the company’s relevant investments are effectively protected and Cytori’s competitive advantage is enhanced. Prior to working at Cytori, she was an Intellectual Property Associate at Lahive&Cockfield in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to law school, she was a Research Associate in the Department of Medicine/Rheumatology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. Ms. Nand holds a B.S. in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics from UCLA and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.

Jonathan E. Soneff , , , General Counsel & Secretary

Jon Soneff joined Cytori Therapeutics in May, 2001 and has managed the company’s general legal affairs including legal aspects of all contracts, M&A, licensing, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, securities, corporate governance, since 2001. Mr. Soneff was previously General Manager of a construction company in Orange County, CA, and an associate of two litigation law firms, Hillsinger and Costanza and Kirkland & Packard. Mr. Soneff received a B.A. in Philosophy at the University of California at Irvine, and a J.D. at Santa Clara University School of Law.

John K. Fraser, PhD , , , Chief Scientist

Dr. John Fraser is the Chief Scientist at Cytori Therapeutics Inc. Prior to joining Cytori, Dr. Fraser had a 12 year career in the Department of Medicine at UCLA. Before joining Cytori, he was the Director and Principal Investigator of the UCLA Umbilical Cord Blood Bank, a NIH-funded allogeneic cord blood stem cell bank. Dr Fraser has a PhD from the University of Otago in New Zealand and a Bachelor of Science degree (Biochemistry and Physiology) from Victoria University of Wellington. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers, has 12 patents issued in the USA. During his career has been awarded more than $12 million in research contract and grant funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Judith A. Solecki , , , Vice President, Global Human Resources

Judy Solecki was appointed Vice President, Global Human Resources in January 2013. She joined Cytori in January of 2012 as our Senior Director of Human Resources, responsible for Cytori’s HR strategy and support across the globe. Prior to Cytori, Judy was with Becton Dickinson (BD), a Fortune 500 Healthcare Technology company. In her Director role at Becton Dickinson, she was responsible for the HR strategy and support for the Healthcare Acquired Infections and Point of Care businesses. She was also part of the global Talent Management group where she ran the talent planning and performance management processes for BD’s 30,000 employee organization. While at BD, Judy played a key role in the effort to build strategic marketing capability across the company; she also led a number of critical HR transformation projects aimed at improving the way HR was organized and delivered globally. Judy started her career in Organizational Development and Management Training with the NASA Johnson Space Center and has held various Organizational Development, Organizational Effectiveness and Human Resources Generalist positions with Conexant Systems, and Invitrogen (now Life Technologies) prior to joining Becton Dickinson. She holds a PhD from Rice University in Industrial Organizational Psychology.
